John Degan
MANAGING DIRECTOR
John started his career early just after high school by completing a metal fabrication trade. After 4 years of trying various jobs, John settled into a position where he spent 8 years as an operator of a carbon black plant on shift.
An opportunity arose when John’s Father in Law asked if he could learn the family business with the intention of running Graham Edwards Engineering (Trading as Labour Options) in 1996. With a big leap of faith John accepted. Now, 27 years later John has extended his education in Industrial Law and continues to upskill in WHS regulations and compliances.
John’s unwavering commitment to Labour Options has supported us through the highs of the Olympics, the challenging times of COVID and all the in-betweens.
John has 3 main loves in life. His family and much better half Deb, golf and surfing. A Cronulla local who can be seen on the green, in the blue and out with his children and grandchild.
Debra Degan
ACCOUNTS/COMPANY SECRETARY/OPERATIONS TEAM
Debra moved quickly after finishing School to a secretarial course then worked for a private investigator debt collector for 10 years. Debra immersed herself in this role becoming a legal secretary and PA to the owner/manager of the business. This was a role that Debra loved and excelled at.
When Debra’s father was diagnosed with MS, the focus then changed to running the family labour hire company. Challenging as it was, juggling a new role, family and continued education in accounts and payroll, Debra immersed herself in all of this once again. We are proud to say that we still maintain clients from Debra’s parents days running Labour Options.
Having lived and worked in the Shire her entire life, Debra enjoys the many professional and personal contacts made and continues to make.
Volunteering her spare time for the past ten years with Early Support Services in the local area assisting new mothers and their babies has been extremely rewarding.
Debra keeps evolving and now remains an integral part of the Labour Hire Team in Accounts and Client/Customer Service. In any spare time, Debra supports her children, is the best Nanna to her grandchild and loves her time on the golf course and supporting the fundraising events at her local golf club.

Joanne Brandley
OPERATIONS SUPPORT/RELIEF
Joanne attended Secretarial Business College after completing her School Certificate. A career in Banking and Real Estate resulted in an extensive understanding of systems, reporting and personnel management.
This was until Joanne started a family with her Husband and was blessed with 3 beautiful children which included twin boys.
Joanne returned to the workforce with a Business Broker part time when the twins were old enough to attend Pre School and then joined the team at Labour Options in February 1994 working 2 days per week doing Payroll and Office Duties.
Over the last 30 years Joanne has worn many hats supporting every aspect of the day-to-day tasks as Labour Options continued to thrive and she was able to devote more time to work as her children grew up.
Now 30 years later and heading into retirement Joanne’s love of overseas travel with her Husband of 40 years and spending time with the increasing number of Grandchildren are her passion, however Joanne will always be available to support the team in peak/relief times.
